Bridgefoot Street Park Model, March–April 2017

Park Model Workshop

Students from Sculpture worked with architect Conor Sreenan to make a scale model of the proposed community park for Bridgefoot Street near Thomas Street. The NCAD workshop was used to plot and craft the hardwood timber blocks to fit into the model. Bridgefoot Park has seen 10 years of continuous community involvement in petitioning the council for its development. The Liberties area in Dublin has a mere 0.7 m² of publicly available green space. On April 20th Dublin City Council held public consultation workshops. At these consultations the model was presented as well as a community informed and evolved MANIFESTO. In Workshop phase 3 of IPIP in 2018, these relationships will be further developed.
